Analysis
Baby & Toddler was the standout category at the Prime Big Deal Days 2025 in Germany, with order volume hitting 4.7 times its baseline rate — nearly double the lift seen in mainstream categories like Electronics (2.9×) and far above Pet Supplies (1.7×). Cameras & Optics (4.2×) and Toys & Games (3.7×) rounded out the top three, pointing to a strong early Christmas gifting dynamic on the event days.
Frühe Weihnachtseinkäufe prägen das Kategoriebild
Spot-checks of purchased items confirm the seasonal intent: Toys orders included LEGO sets, Play-Doh, and tonies audio systems, while Baby & Toddler lines featured teething products and care essentials — classic gift and stock-up purchases. Prime Big Deal Days shoppers used the sale to stock up on sale items or purchase something they had been waiting to buy; the top categories included apparel, household essentials, home beauty, health & wellness and home goods. The German data shows a notably different mix from the US, with gift-oriented hard goods dominating rather than everyday replenishment. Food, Beverages & Tobacco (1.8×) and Media (1.75×) saw the weakest lifts, suggesting price-conscious but non-seasonal categories are less mobilized by a 48-hour urgency event. Methodology
Category-level order lift was measured for German online shoppers on Prime Big Deal Days October 7–8, 2025, using the same fixed cohort and 30-day baseline as the overall event analysis, calibrated to German adults aged 18 and over. Product categories follow the Shopify standard taxonomy. Only categories with at least 40 buyers on event days are included; the multiplier shown is the ratio of mean daily orders during the event to mean daily orders during the baseline period. Approximately 7% of order lines without a classifiable category were excluded from the category breakdown.
